From the 2003 through the 2005 seasons, which former Texas football players flew under the radar as Vince Young-teammates?

Back in 2005, the Texas football program was able to win their last BCS National Championship Game in the 2006 Rose Bowl against the star-studded USC Trojans. Both Texas and USC were loaded with NFL-level talent back during the 2005 college football season. And that made for an instant classic that is one of the best (if not the best) games in college football history.

The biggest star on this loaded team for the men in burnt orange was the former Heisman runner-up legendary signal caller Vince Young. In 2005, VY finished behind only USC running back Reggie Bush in the final Heisman voting. Former USC star quarterback Matt Leinart finished in third place that year in the final Heisman voting.

Texas was not only the best team in the nation during the 2005 season, they had one of the most talented programs through and through for the entirety of the 2000’s. Former Texas head coach Mack Brown was a great roster builder and recruiter throughout the 2000’s. It just died out in the last decade. Yet, his best quarterback was more than likely VY.

This list of the players mentioned that played with VY won’t just come from the 2005 team, though. It can come from any one of the three teams he played for with Texas from 2003-2005. VY’s college career would be capped after the 2006 Rose Bowl, where he was selected third overall in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

Here’s a look into the three players you forgot played for the Texas Longhorns football program back during the run for former star quarterback Vince Young on this team.
