A hit to the 2021 Texas football recruiting class had writing on the wall a while back with 4-Star WR Agiye Hall picking Alabama.

A blow that was figured to be dealt on April 18 to the 2021 Texas football recruiting class came about when four-star Bloomingdale wide receiver Agiye Hall announced on his Twitter timeline that he would be making his pledge decision this weekend. Hall announced on the evening of April 18 where he would be taking his talents at the next level.

Hall was a key target of the 2021 recruiting class for the Texas Longhorns football program at one point in time. The 6-foot-3 and 190 ultra-talented wideout that is a product coming out of Valrico, FL, had more than 40 schools on his offer sheet before he announced his commitment this weekend.

Hall said he would be making his announcement on his Instagram page on Saturday evening. He made his decision on Instagram Live and it was later confirmed on 247Sports and Sports Illustrated.

He wound up choosing to take his talents to Tuscaloosa and committed to head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions saw Alabama trending heavily for Hall in the days leading up to this commitment decision.

And he chose Alabama over the likes of his other known three finalist schools which included the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, and Arizona State Sun Devils. He also had a lot of blue blood programs that offered him including the Florida Gators, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Oklahoma Sooners.

Hall ranks as the nation’s No. 63 2021 high school prospect, No. 10 wide receiver, and No. 11 prospect out of Florida. His commitment should now bump Alabama up within the top 30 ranked 2021 recruiting classes in the nation. But Alabama still has less than five commits in their 2021 recruiting class. Their still pretty far behind the Longhorns in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.

Wide receiver is a position of need for the Longhorns in the 2021 recruiting class. They didn’t get a marquee wideout signee in the 2020 recruiting class, so they’ll have to continue to focus in on getting one for 2021.
