Big 12 Football: 3 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch on Day 1
The player out of the Big 12 that should, by a good margin, be falling off draft boards first is former Oklahoma star junior wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. As part of the top of the Big 12 draft class that encompasses prospects that all declared early on this list, Lamb is going to be (very likely) one of the first two wide receivers off the board in the first round.
Lamb had a very solid junior campaign for Oklahoma, racking up 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added another 20 rushing yards and one score on the ground last season. Throughout the entirety of his three-years playing in an Oklahoma uniform, Lamb had well over 3,000 receiving yards, more than 30 touchdown catches. And he averaged nearly 20 yards per reception in his college career.
The 6-foot-2 and 190 pound Lamb is going to go to battle with Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy to see who is the first wide receiver taken off draft boards tonight. Lamb is a more well-rounded wideout, whereas Jeudy did put up the better stats in the last two years. There’s a good chance that both will get taken in the top 10 too.
As was true for each of the three prospects out of the Big 12 on this list, Lamb had a good showing at the NFL Combine back in February and early March. His 40-yard dash time wasn’t the fastest (4.50 seconds), but he did look good on the catching drills. He also registered a 34.5 inch vertical leap, 11 reps on the bench, and a 124 inch broad jump.
