3. San Francisco 49ers

Joining a fellow former Longhorn wide receiver that is also a speedster could be a fantastic fit for Burt at the next level. Landing with another former Longhorn in San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan could dramatically improve the chances that Burt is able to find his way into an NFL roster.

Former Texas standout wide receiver Marquise Goodwin could be on the move this offseason, but if he’s hanging around he would be a good guiding point for Burt. The 49ers in general just have a lot of wide receivers from the Big 12 on their roster. Former Baylor Bear Jalen Hurd is also in this Niners receiving corps.

There is still the need for the Super Bowl runner-up to improve their supporting cast around quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Some of the pieces in place are very solid, including wide receiver Deebo Samuel and a versatile running back like Tevin Coleman. But the receiving corps isn’t all that deep compared to the rest of the NFC West.

Landing hidden gems in the round of undrafted free agent signings that will happen this year could be crucial given the lack of a draft scouting process. The Texas Pro Day didn’t happen, which was something that would really help out given the blazing speed and agility that Burt brings to the table.
