3. Opening up the field with T.Y. Hilton

The Colts are going to have a vastly different looking offense this coming season compared to last. They are going to try their hand at running with a new starting quarterback, hailing from the same college football program as their one from last season. Former NC State Wolfpack star quarterback Philip Rivers landed with the Colts in free agency after a lengthy run with the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers earlier this offseason.

Last year’s starting quarterback for the Colts is a fellow former NC State quarterback, Jacoby Brissett. But Rivers will bring a much higher proven level of production to the table than Brissett, and should give a talented and young Colts roster a real shot at making a deep playoff run in the coming season.

A top weapon that Rivers will be working with this year is star wide receiver and 2012 draft pick T.Y. Hilton. For much of the 2019 season, Hilton missed time due to injury struggles. He played in 10 games with the Colts last season, amassing 45 receptions for just over 500 yards and five touchdown catches.

Hilton is one of the most agile and slippery receivers in the open field still in the AFC. His prime years are starting to wane, and injuries could start to pile up. But Hilton still brings a true star presence to the table that a lot of other NFL teams just don’t have right now. This four-time Pro Bowler could be a great flank alongside the likes of Duvernay.
