Scouting Report. 92nd Overall. player. 26. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Devin Duvernay. 2

There’s not going to be many complaints for any player selected on day two of the 2020 NFL Draft among former Longhorns at this point in time. Texas isn’t getting as many early round picks in the draft as the program is accustomed to as long as the NFL sanctioned college players to be selected. But things are starting to get better oh so slowly.

A player that most would bet was going to be the first former Longhorn off the board in this draft is 5-foot-11 and 210 pound ex-starting senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay. The former Baylor Bears commit and true breakthrough wideout had his best season during his senior campaign (amassing more than 100 catches for nearly 1,400 yards and 10 total touchdowns).

One the touchdowns Duvernay got last season even was a score through the air.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Duvernay with the 92nd overall pick in the third round of the draft. He was the last former Longhorn to be selected on day two. But he was the second to last wide receiver off the Forty Acres drafted. Duvernay will bring 187 career touches, more than 2,500 total yards, and 17 scores to the Ravens receiving corps.

Insanely reliable hands, underrated speed (4.39 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine), and unsuspecting versatility marks the value that Duvernay brings to the table out of college. The Ravens have an offensive system and supporting cast that gives Duvernay the chance to make a huge immediate impact.

But there is a plethora of other wide receivers that share similar skill sets to Duvernay in this Ravens receiving corps. The likes of Marquise Brown, Willie Snead IV, and De’Anthony Thomas could all take looks away from Duvernay. That is really the only downside to landing with the Ravens.
