1. Tarik Black, Senior

Landing Black out of the transfer portal did add a good amount of experience and depth to the Longhorns receiving corps, but it might have also started a position battle. At one of the three wide receiver spots, Black could be challenging to take a lot of reps away from the likes of Smith, Eagles, or Moore (the three likely projected starting wide receivers prior to Black’s arrival).

Smith and Eagles are probably safe, but Moore is very likely to have some competition for the starting spot Z-wide receiver position. Moore didn’t play at all for the Longhorns last season and Black has much more experience and a higher ceiling of the two. Black registered 40 catches for just over 500 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 17 games played during his three years with Michigan.

To no surprise, Black was the most productive at Michigan at the beginning of seasons. That would be before he would ever run into injury issues, which struck him for nearly the entirety of his first two years in Ann Arbor. Black only played in six games combined between his freshman and sophomore campaigns.

Actually the opposition that Black was most successful against was the Florida Gators. That has to be one of the most talented and stout secondaries that Black has ever faced with Michigan too. He registered four receptions for just under 100 yards and one score in total against Florida. He faced the Gators twice as a Wolverine.
