3. Jase Febres, Small Forward

The pure volume in which the to-be senior Longhorns small forward Jase Febres shot from the field in his three years with the program thus far far surpasses pretty much all of his teammates. Febres was originally brought on board for the Longhorns as a four-star shooting guard/small forward recruit as part of the 2017 signing class.

In his three-year career with Texas men’s hoops thus far, Febres averaged 7.1 points per game, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists, while shooting 37.0 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.1 percent from the charity stripe. Febres is a sharpshooter that improved his consistency from the field and more specifically downtown over time.

Last season, Febres did up his per game averages to 9.4 points per game, and 0.9 assists. He did that while shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and better than 80 percent from the charity stripe. He really found his rhythm from the field for a stretch of time last season too, while shooting 49 percent from inside the three-point arc.

The true shooting percentage for Febres started out pretty bad with the Longhorns during his true freshman campaign (43.5 percent). But he got his true shooting percentage up around 55 in the last two years. His effective field goal percentage also got up around 55 percent two seasons ago. It sat around 52 percent last season.

Febres is a three-point sharpshooter, and most Longhorn basketball fans know that by now. His three-point attempt rate is more than 80 percent in his career with Texas.
