Of all the talent that has rolled through the Texas football program alongside quarterback Sam Ehinger, who are his five best teammates?

Going into his fourth year with the Texas football program, rising senior star quarterback Sam Ehlinger was able to breath new life into the team and find more success than they were ever able to previously in the 2010’s. Texas got to win a Sugar Bowl over the Georgia Bulldogs, Alamo Bowl over the No. 11 ranked Utah Utes, and finally take down a top-10 ranked Oklahoma Sooners team in the Red River Rivalry game while both programs were up.

For the most part, the 2010’s was a decade to forget on the Forty Acres. Texas went through three different head coaches to get them where they are now. The two former head coaches from the 2010’s includes current North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Mack Brown and Alabama Crimson Tide defensive analyst Charlie Strong.

Ehlinger and current Texas head coach Tom Herman are hoping to continue some of the success they found over the course of the last three years into the coming season. Texas had a down 2019 season, compared with where preseason expectations lied, finishing up with a record of 8-5 (5-4 Big 12).

But there is more talent than at any point in the last five or seven years coming out of this football program heading into the 2020 campaign. Ehlinger is getting an improved supporting cast, and more pure-talent around him on both sides of the ball.

Since Texas does have a pretty loaded roster heading into the 2020 season, where does it stack up with the rest that Ehlinger was a part of in his college career?

Here’s a look into the five best teammates that Ehlinger had during his three years so far with the Texas Longhorns football program.
