Pick Analysis. 1. 2016-2018. Lil'Jordan Humphrey. player. 15. Scouting Report. Wide Receiver

The most notable name on this list as far as former Longhorns that could have benefited (at least in terms of their draft stock) from returning to the Forty Acres for at least one more year is former wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey. The 6-foot-5 and 225 pound Humphrey was a former three-star recruit and broke through with the Longhorns during his junior season.

Unlike Ridgeway and Jefferson, Humphrey wasn’t getting much touting as a highly anticipated NFL Draft prospect until his junior season. There was hype building around the other two former Longhorns listed here well before their junior campaigns. But Humphrey broke out in ways that was only matched by senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay last season.

During the 2018 season, Humphrey registered 92 touches for more than 1,200 total yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns. He had at least one touchdown in the passing game, receiving game, and ground game. That’s a rare feat for a wide receiver that became known as a “swiss army knife” under Herman’s direction.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, Humphrey went from being a potential middle round pick to going undrafted. A poor showing in the draft scouting process dropped Humphrey all the way down to an undrafted free agent signing of the New Orleans Saints. He would run a very slow (for a wide receiver at least) 4.75-second 40-yard dash time at the 2019 NFL Combine, and get up just 13 reps on the bench press.
