3. B.J. Foster, Nickelback/Safety

A potential prospect that no one is talking about, but should be, for the 2021 NFL Draft class off of the Forty Acres is former five-star recruit and rising junior safety/nickelback B.J. Foster. If Texas loses both of their top safeties/defensive backs heading into the 2021 offseason, the loss in depth would be drastic.

But if Foster can stay healthy throughout the coming season, then he would be in position to prove himself as a projected early round pick in the 2021 draft. Foster spent most of his true freshman campaign without dealing with injury issues, but he did still miss two games and bits and pieces of two others from targeting and other injuries.

The 6-foot-2 and 210 pound Foster is a very explosive athlete, hard hitter, and a ball hawking defensive back when he’s actually dropping back into pass coverage. He’s registered 81 career total tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two interceptions, six pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

Although, Foster hasn’t even played in a full 21 games in his two-year run with Texas yet. He’s been electric when healthy and ready to go. But he’ll have to prove that he can stay healthy with the extended offseason of rest this year. He can be a very highly touted NFL Draft prospect if that comes to be and he declares early as part of the 2021 class.
