3. Gerald Liddell, Forward

A former four-star recruit that was actually the highest rated signee in the Longhorns 2018 recruiting class, forward Gerald Liddell, really has yet to find his footing with this team. Much like each of the four players on this list have in bits and pieces of the last two years, Liddell showed flashes but inconsistencies and injuries held him back from solidifying a significant spot in the rotation.

This ex-top 50 ranked high school prospect in the nation and Cibolo-Steele product played in just 27 games total over the course of the last two seasons. He played in 15 games last season, before his season was ended due to injury in the midst of Big 12 play. But Liddell was starting to see his role steadily rise last season, as he started in 10 of the 15 games he took part in.

In those 15 games played last season, Liddell averaged 4.4 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks. He shot 40.3 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and a rather putrid 48.0 percent from the charity stripe (on 25 attempts).

Clearly the shooting efficiency of Liddell has to progress next season. Another area to focus on for his game is assist-to-turnover ratio (1.0-1.5 last season) since he does have the potential to be a secondary facilitator and distributor. Liddell is a case of having a lot of promise the just needs patience to develop over time.
