Two very solid additions to the 2021 Texas football recruiting class arrived for head coach Tom Herman in just a few hours on May 15.

It was a big day for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class on May 15. Head coach Tom Herman saw his 2021 recruiting class reel in key commitments from two prioritized three-star prospects on Friday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, Texas was in great position to continue the recent momentum they’ve found on the recruiting trail in the span of a little less than the last 30 days.

Texas is now up to 11 commits in the 2021 recruiting class, reaching double digits thanks to the big May 15 haul. The highest rated commitment in Texas’ 2021 recruiting class remains five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders. And he’s followed shortly thereafter in the recruiting rankings by his teammate, and four-star athlete Billy Bowman Jr.

Since April 26, Texas landed commitments from five different prospects. It all started with the commitment of three-star Atascocita tight end Landen King. Since then, Texas also hauled in four-star Memorial weak-side defensive end Jordon Thomas and three-star Martin outside linebacker Morice Blackwell.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class is now up to No. 8 in the nation and remains in the top spot in the Big 12. Texas has now cracked the top 10 in the national class rankings for the first time in a while. They went through a long dry spell on the recruiting trail that ended late last month.

There’s a ton of momentum rolling for the Texas Longhorns football program on the recruiting trail at the moment. Here’s a deeper look at the two 2021 commits they landed on May 15.
