2. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Player their fan base hates most: Colt McCoy

Player Longhorns fans hate most: Eric Crouch

A prominent program back in the day when they were standing out in the Big 12 was the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Prior to the turn of the century, Nebraska was consistently one of the best college football programs in the entire country. But something changed in the past two decades to where Nebraska is permanently no longer a national title contender.

Texas holds the all-time series edge against the Huskers with a record of 10-4-0. They also ended this conference rivalry with a six-game winning streak. The last time that these two blue bloods met was back in 2010, when Garrett Gilbert and the Longhorns beat the Huskers in Lincoln.

It’s easy for a fan base that watches from a distance since they left the Big 12 to hate on the Longhorns. Especially if Nebraska has a better record in the Big Ten that Texas had in the Big 12, it’s easy for their fans to smack talk the Longhorns. There are some hard feelings with the way Nebraska left things in the Big 12 around the early 2010’s.

However, in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s Nebraska was led by a star quarterback by the name of Eric Crouch. He was actually the last Husker quarterback to beat the Longhorns, which came back in 1999. Crouch was also the Heisman Trophy winner in 2001. It’s easy for Longhorn fans to find negative feelings for him.

The same could be said the opposite way for McCoy since he was the latest Texas quarterback to beat Nebraska on more than one occasion. McCoy was undefeated against Nebraska in three tries. That’s hard for Nebraska fans to deal with I would presume.
