Texas Football: 3 opponent stadiums that will be most impacted without fans
Of all the road games on tap for the Texas football program this coming season, which road atmospheres would be most impacted without fans?
During the upcoming college football season, there could be a radical shift in the way that the Texas football program will take the field on the road. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, fans in the stands in the world of college football might not be a thing as we knew it in the past for the 2020 season.
There’s a multitude of ideas being tossed around if games are played during the upcoming 2020 college football season as to how to keep everyone safe while not cancelling the entire schedule or postponing anything. The Ohio State Buckeyes are reportedly trying to come up with a model that works by allowing 20,000 fans spaced out in the stands during their home games this coming season. Ohio Stadium holds a capacity of more than 100,000 fans, so that would be a huge change.
Another noteworthy thought coming from a big time Big Ten program dropped when Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh recently appeared on the ESPN show “Get Up”. Harbaugh stated that he supported the idea of playing games this season without fans in attendance.
Obviously Michigan Stadium and Ohio Stadium having games played without any fans in attendance would be very weird. Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby also recently joined Get Up to discuss his prospects for this conference’s games during the planned 2020 season. He still seems to be considering an array of ideas for the best way to hold games and to keep fans, players, and team personnel, among others, safe.
Whatever happens, it looks like there is going to be a vastly different atmosphere at the bulk of college football stadiums this coming season. Here’s a look into the three opponents of the Texas Longhorns football program during the 2020 season that will be most different without full capacity in the stands.
