Texas Football: 3 opponent stadiums that will be most impacted without fans
1. LSU Tigers
Far and away the biggest impact that playing in front of now fans would have on any one game involving the Longhorns on the road this season would be against the defending National Champion LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. Tiger Stadium is a mecca of college football atmospheres, and having no fans present is going to be weird if this is the way games are played this year.
Texas and LSU faced each other in a close battle last fall, with the ultimate victory falling in the Tigers’ favor by the final score of 45-38. LSU was able to sneak away with the victory at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium last season thanks to former star wide receiver Collin Johnson barely missing an onside kick recovery.
However, while the atmosphere is very special and raucous during a night game at DKR, it is pretty crazy at Tiger Stadium (a.k.a. Death Valley) in Baton Rouge too. Not having fans in a potential night game scenario in Baton Rouge is really hard to imagine. Tiger Stadium is one of the most unique and raucous atmospheres in all of college football.
Head coach Ed Orgeron will be without the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and quarterback Joe Burrow this coming season, and he could be without fans in the stands at Tiger Stadium when LSU battles Texas on Sep. 12 in Baton Rouge. This will definitely be a sight to see, but one that not many people might witness in person this fall.
