There are three other programs that could leap into contention ahead of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class to land 4-Star C James Brockermeyer.

The most crucial set of brothers that the 2021 Texas football recruiting class to prioritize at this point in time just have one of the two announce his four finalist schools on Memorial Day. Four-star All Saints Episcopal center James Brockermeyer, and his brother five-star offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer, could finally be in the mindset of narrowing down their commitment decision. In all likelihood, the Brockermeyers will have the same landing spot for college.

Figuring out where the Brockermeyer’s are going to land in college is one of the most prominent recruiting storylines of the offseason not just involving Texas, but a number of blue blood programs.

On his Twitter timeline on May 24, Brockermeyer announced his latest round of finalist cuts. And Texas was one of the four schools that unsurprisingly made it through this round of cuts. The other three schools all hail from the SEC West including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, and LSU Tigers.

This round of cuts will eliminate just over a dozen schools that offered James. Among those are the Arizona State Sun Devils, Iowa Hawkeyes, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Ole Miss Rebels, and USC Trojans.

James Brockermeyer is a 6-foot-3 and 275 pound skilled center that hails from Fort Worth, TX, in the ever-so important recruiting grounds of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He ranks as the nation’s No. 192 2021 high school prospect, top center, and No. 32 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). His brother Tommy does rank among the top five high school prospects in the nation, though.

Here’s a look into the four finalist schools that made it through the latest round of cuts from Brockermeyer, and how the Texas Longhorns football program fits into the equation.
