4. Auburn Tigers

Potentially the team facing the biggest uphill battle to land the commitment from either of the Brockermeyer’s, or both, is Auburn. Head coach Gus Malzahn did well to get his program among the top four finalist schools in the running to land Brockermeyer. But that might be where the buck stops for Auburn.

The recruiters from Auburn pursuing Brockermeyer includes assistant (and former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach) Chad Morris along with offensive line coach Jack Bicknell. What is working in Auburn’s favor is the fact that his last visit prior to the novel coronavirus pandemic hit more than two months ago, was an unofficial with them back on Feb. 2.

Brockermeyer also has another visit planned to Auburn, with an official on June 2. That will get him on campus in Auburn just next week.

Auburn also hosted Brockermeyer for an unofficial visit back in late November of last year. That came a few months after he originally received his scholarship offer from the program back in June 2019.

On the roster currently, Auburn has two centers and no commitments at the position in their 2021 recruiting class. The positional need isn’t overwhelming for the Tigers, but Brockermeyer could have a worst landing spot among the more than 15 programs that offered him as of May 24.
