3. LSU Tigers

There’s a lot of recruiting momentum building up for head coach Ed Orgeron and the LSU program at the moment. The defending National Champion LSU actually worked through the Longhorns last season early in the non-conference slate to get down the path to the College Football Playoff. The non-conference battle set for Texas and LSU this coming season could play a big role in determining who lands the Brockermeyer brothers.

Back on March 20, 2019, LSU sent their scholarship offer for James. LSU got their offer to Brockermeyer out before the Longhorns did last offseason. But he hasn’t made his way to Baton Rouge for visits all that often. Auburn, Alabama, and Texas do hold the edge over LSU in that regard.

A big threat could be looming from LSU since they do have a positional need at center. LSU also tends to be one of the better producers of NFL-caliber offensive line talent in the SEC and they regularly boast one of the strongest pipelines at running back. LSU doesn’t have a single true center on the current roster, and they don’t have any committed in the 2021 recruiting class either.

The LSU offensive line coach James Cregg had success in a past stop with the USC staff recruiting at the guard position. He could do the same with the Brockermeyer brothers if they buy into the current recruiting momentum in Baton Rouge and the positional need with the program. The ability to make an immediate impact is always considered nowadays in recruiting battles.
