On May 27, three-star Shadow Creek outside linebacker Terrence Cooks looks set to announce his commitment decision. This commitment will be coming via social media for Cooks at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
On the evening of May 26, this key 6-foot-2 and 210 pound linebacker target of the 2021 recruiting class for the Texas Longhorns football program announced on his Twitter timeline when his announcement is coming.
Given that Cooks is a three-star prospect, he actually has a very highly anticipated looming commitment decision. And it seems like the Longhorns are trending in a good direction ahead of his decision date.

The sole 247Sports recruiting ranking for Cooks slots him as the No. 29 outside linebacker and No. 49 prospect out of Texas. He is very close to earning that fourth star in his 247Sports Composite ranking.
Cooks starting gaining a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail since the end of his junior season at Shadow Creek High School. In the month of March alone, he received offers from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Michigan State Spartans, Arizona Wildcats, Stanford Cardinal, and Oregon State Beavers.
He’s got more than 30 schools in total on his offer sheet. The highlights of those schools that have offered him thus far includes the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Baylor Bears, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, and USC Trojans.
According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Longhorns recruiting class ranks at No. 12 in the nation and remains in the top spot in the Big 12. They were recently knocked out of the top 10 in the national class rankings after the decommitment of three-star Atascocita tight end Landen King.
Texas currently holds a commitment from one outside linebacker in the 2021 class, from three-star Martin product Morice Blackwell. They need depth help at linebacker in the near future, so landing a commitment from Cooks would be vital.
