There’s not many prospects left for the 2020 recruiting cycle that the Longhorns have offered that remain uncommitted. Usually the post-Memorial Day Weekend point of college basketball’s offseason is the time when the recruiting news turns the page to the following cycle. But the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back what would usually be some type of National Signing Day.

One underrated and skilled Texas offer to watch moving forward that also sits among the better uncommitted high school prospects in the nation is three-star Little Elm point guard KJ Pruitt. This 6-foot-3 and 180 pound Little Elm, TX, native would be a nice pairing with Brown since he could develop over the long haul but add depth to the Longhorns bench starting next season.

Pruitt ranks as the nation’s No. 344 2020 high school prospect, No. 55 point guard, and No. 17 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). He currently holds offers from nine schools including the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Central Michigan Chippewas, Northern Arizona, and Texas.

It’s anyone’s best guess to figure out where Pruitt will take his talents to at this point. If he doesn’t wind up reclassifying, then he is one of the best available uncommitted 2020 high school prospects. And he has some solid Big 12 programs going after him. Texas could do well to add him as a piece of the 2020 signing class.
