2. Sam Ehlinger is the more accurate passer

An easier comparison to find out why Ehlinger is a better quarterback is the completion percentage and overall accuracy going each way.

The completion rates for Mond since his true freshman campaign have improved to his credit. But they’ve gone from 51.5 percent from his freshman season, to 57.3 as a sophomore, and rounding up with 61.6 percent as a junior.

Meanwhile, Ehlinger saw a similar level of improvement, but remained with a better completion percentage than Mond throughout. Ehlinger registered a completion rate of 57.5 percent from his true freshman campaign, to 64.7 percent as a sophomore, and rounding up with 65.2 percent last season as a junior.

Moreover, Ehlinger owns the edge over Mond in terms of passing attempts per interception for his career. But last season, Ehlinger had 45.4 passing attempts per interception (10 total picks on the year). Mond posted 46.5 passing yards per interception last season. For their career, though, Ehlinger has 52.5 passing attempts per interception while Mond has 44.2.

Mond is improving his accuracy, but Ehlinger still has the clear edge in this department over the course of his entire college career. Completion percentage is usually the first indicator, but avoiding more picks is also a big factor.
