Scouting Report. Teammates with VY: 2011. Ronnie Brown. player. 54. Pick Analysis. Running Back. 1

Another former Auburn football product makes the list as a rather brief teammate of Young’s, in his one year with the Eagles in the NFC East. Former Auburn star running back Ronnie Brown is the final piece to this list, and he wasn’t the most productive on the ground by any means for the Eagles during the 2011 season.

The sizable 6-foot and 220 pound former Auburn running back and Rome, GA, native Brown was picked with the second overall pick in the first round by the Miami Dolphins in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was slotted two picks before the former star Texas running back Cedric Benson (picked by the Chicago Bears fourth overall) in the 2005 draft.

The peak of Brown’s production in the NFL would come during his first six seasons with the Dolphins. By the time he landed with the Eagles, he was already 30 years old and wearing down fast. The Eagles didn’t give him much of a chance either as LeSean McCoy was a budding star at running back ahead of Brown.

During the 2011 season, Brown would get just 2.6 rushing attempts per game. He tallied up 136 total rushing yards, no receiving yards, and just one rushing touchdown on the season. Brown averaged well under four yards per carry.

Despite the down 2011 campaign for Brown, he would get two more full seasons with the San Diego Chargers, and then one more split between the Chargers and Houston Texans. His run in the NFL officially ended after the 2014 season.
