Largely due to his performance for a very solid Longhorns team, alongside VY on offense, in 2004 is former wide receiver Tony Jeffery. He was one of the Longhorns leading receivers during the 2004 season that ended in a Rose Bowl win over the Michigan Wolverines. Jeffery was also a very entertaining player to watch in 2004, and brought a good amount of versatility to the table.

Coming out of Klein Forest High School in Houston, TX, the 6-foot-2 and 175 pound Jeffery was looking to make an immediate impact with the Longhorns receiving corps. But Texas was still breaking in another wave of talented wide receivers, and had a bevy of NFL-caliber receivers on the roster at the time.

Jeffery was competing with the likes of Roy Williams, B.J. Johnson, and Bo Scaife for targets in the receiving game. And he would get more of his chance to shine as time moved along. He went from hauling in just five receptions for 74 yards and one touchdown during the 2001 season, to getting nearly 500 total yards from scrimmage during his senior campaign in 2004.

In total during his college career with the Longhorns, Jeffery got 82 touches for 841 total yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns. His best year as a receiver came as a senior during the 2004 season, where he hauled in 33 catches for 437 yards and four total touchdowns. He averaged 12.5 yards per catch in his college career too.
