Which three to-be juniors for the Texas football program are ready to truly breakthrough during the looming 2020 regular season?

Now that the Texas football program got off their feet under head coach Tom Herman in 2018, and experienced a down year last season, it’s time to really see how far this team can go under the current coaching regime in 2020. Texas finished with a record of 8-5 (5-4 Big 12) after beating the Utah Utes in the Alamo Bowl by the final score of 38-10. Finishing up the regular season with seven wins, and if not for the Alamo Bowl win over No. 11 ranked Utah, Herman would be under much more pressure at the moment.

Entering the 2020 season, Texas will be sporting a much different looking coaching staff, including new offensive and defensive coordinators. Texas brought in the likes of former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash to replace Todd Orlando as the next defensive coordinator and former Ohio State passing game coordinator Mike Yurcich to replace Tim Beck as the next offensive coordinator.

With the new-look coaching staff in place on the Forty Acres, Texas has to get better results on the field and in the win column this fall. Texas is returning more production and talent than they have really in any year for Herman as this program’s head coach.

If Texas could nab a double-digit win season in 2018 to go along with a Sugar Bowl win over the Georgia Bulldogs, Red River Rivalry game win, Big 12 Championship Game appearance, and a Sam Ehlinger breakthrough, then all this returning experience in 2020 should take this team to a whole new level. The last three signing classes under Herman’s wing need to come to the forefront finally.

Here’s a look into the three juniors ready to breakout during the 2020 season for the Texas Longhorns football program.
