Texas Football: 3 burning questions for 2021 recruiting class

Getting the 2021 Texas football recruiting class ahead of the rest of the competition in the Big 12 in the near future could realistically be accomplished.

There’s currently a large amount of the offers that were sent out by the 2021 Texas football recruiting class that are making key decision during the NCAA mandated in-person contact hiatus. A lot of commitment decisions are coming down lately to key offers of the 2021 Texas recruiting class, and more are going to come in the near future.

Head coach Tom Herman put together a solid 2021 class from the outset, but he hit a lull during a good bulk of the 2019 regular season. Up until about late April, Texas hit a real snag on the trail for their 2021 and 2022 classes. And even since late April, Texas got mixed results on the trail for the 2021 class.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 17 in the nation and holds steady in the top spot in the Big 12. The Baylor Bears are quickly starting to approach Texas both in the national class rankings and the Big 12. Baylor currently ranks at No. 20 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big 12. The Oklahoma Sooners and Iowa State Cyclones also aren’t all that far behind Texas at this point.

Texas currently holds 11 commits in the 2021 class. The highest rated commitment is from five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders. There’s also six other four-star commits and four three-stars in the 2021 class.

There could be a big wave of momentum on the trail in the next month or two if Herman shrugs off the recent roller coaster results for the Longhorns 2021 class.
