Much like that of Ibraheem, the 6-foot-0.5 and 180 pound Kennedale, TX, native Coffey III held offers from more than 30 different schools. The highlights of his offer sheet includes the likes of the Boise State Broncos, Auburn, Baylor, Florida Gators, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Washington Huskies.

Coffey is held out as the nation’s No. 173 2021 high school prospect, No. 7 safety, and No. 29 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). The sole 247Sports recruiting rankings holds Coffey out as the No. 27 safety and No. 46 prospect out of Texas. There is a pretty large discrepancy in that group of rankings for Coffey.

The Rivals recruiting ranking for Coffey can help give a bit more of an even idea of how Coffey is considered among the major outlets in this area. He’s considered the nation’s No. 112 high school prospect, No. 4 safety, and No. 16 prospect out of Texas on Rivals. That is even more highly touted than the 247Sports Composite.

Since Texas is doing a lot of shuffling at safety right now, adding a versatile prospect like Coffey to the mix helps out a lot. He could also be a good fit at the SPUR position, newfound in Ash’s defensive scheme. Coffey is very solid in pass coverage, but is able to diagnose plays quick enough and has enough speed in pursuit of the ball carrier to fit into a number of different safety looks for the Longhorns.
