A good example of where Herman and Ash were able to scout out an underrated defensive back prospect that will help fill a depth need in the 2021 class, and send him an offer of late, is with three-star Manor safety Devin Lemear. Back on May 30, Lemear received his offer from Texas.

And on the same day, the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions did start to have the experts pouring in with their Longhorns picks for Lemear’s commitment. The Rivals FutureCast also has 78 percent of their analysts and publishers picking Lemear to commit to Texas over the rest of the field.

Lemear does hold offers from nearly 20 different schools. The highlights of the schools on his offer sheet includes the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor, TCU Horned Frogs, Boise State Broncos, Houston Cougars, Iowa State Cyclones, Kansas State Wildcats, Mizzou Tigers, SMU Mustangs, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Lemear ranks as the nation’s No. 988 2021 high school prospect, No. 75 safety, and No. 153 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). This 6-foot and 170 pound Manor, TX, native could be more of a developmental project for the Longhorns. So landing his commitment would still be big in the near future for the Longhorns 2021 class.
