Really the last solid run for VY during his brief NFL career came with the Titans during the 2009 campaign. At the age of 26, it looked as if VY could finally be starting to find his way and get in the right mindset. But that didn’t last for long. VY would get his final Pro Bowl selection of his NFL career during the 2009 campaign.

During the 2009 season, VY played in 12 games (starting in 10 of them). At that point of his career, Young was sitting on the Titans bench behind veteran quarterback Kerry Collins. But former Titans head coach Jeff Fisher put VY back in the starting quarterback role after Collins led them to a brutal 0-6 start that year.

VY would wind up guiding the Titans to a stout record of 8-2-0 in his 10 starts. In those dozen games played (and 10 starts), VY registered 1,879 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, career-high 69.5 quarterback rating, and a 58.7 completion percentage. He did have eight fumbles in 2009, but did add more than 200 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

There was really a big difference that VY made during the 2009 season. He won the Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year in 2009. And he finished just behind New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams in the AP Comeback Player of the Year award race.
