Programs that no longer exist

Quite a few of the programs that Texas is winless against are also ones that no longer exist. The first opponent that Texas was winless against that still remains that way is Kirksville. That came way back during the 1901 season, and there are a few others that the Longhorns faced since that offer similar program narratives. Here’s a look at those that Texas might never get to face again.

Kirksville Osteopaths (now A.T. Still University)

This might be the most unusual program that Texas has faced but never beat in their program history. Texas faced the Kirksville Osteopaths in the 1901 season, and were absolutely catapulted by the final score of 48-0. The Longhorns lost just two games during the 1901 season, with one coming against the Kansas Jayhawks and the other against Kirksville.

Chicago

After the turn of the century from the 1800’s to the 1900’s, there were not many college football programs that were more dominant than the Chicago Maroons. During the 1904 season, Texas had a very promising run in store until they faced Chicago. The Maroons also dismantled Texas in their sole meeting in each of the program’s history by the final score of 68-0.

Colorado College

Much like the University of Chicago, the Colorado College Tigers were a program that found most of their success in the early 1900’s. In fact, the Colorado College football program was only in existence until the end of World War II. They defeated the Longhorns during the 1908 season in the sole meeting between these two programs by the final score of 15-0.

Randolph Field

Around the time of World War II, most college football programs didn’t have enough opponents to outfit the fall schedule. That was the case for the Randolph Field Ramblers, who had a sensational season in the one year they played back during the 1944 campaign. Randolph Field finished off with a record of 12-0-0, and were ranked third in the final AP Poll. They also dominated the Longhorns in 1944 to the tune of a 42-6 win.
