A rising target of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class, 3-Star C Michael Myslinski, could be committing in the very near future.

The loss of the Brockermeyer twins last week at the hands of head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide was a huge hit to the 2021 Texas football recruiting class. Since Texas does not have all that much depth built up in the trenches offensively as it stands now in the 2021 class, they need to hit on any highly touted remaining uncommitted targets for the rest of the cycle. Texas has a dwindling pool of talent for this cycle along the offensive line, so any target declaring soon should mean all hands on deck for this coaching staff.

And it looks like there’s a new name emerging among the possible offensive line targets for the Longhorns to pursue among those who are announcing their commitment decision in the near future. According to a Horns247 report from July 21 (paid content), the underrated and unheralded three-star Florida native center Michael Myslinski is “closing in” on a commitment decision likely within the next couple of weeks at the latest.

This skilled offensive line product out of Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, FL, also reportedly is set to narrow down his last set of finalist schools cuts in the coming days. The known schools that Myslinski is down to at this point includes the Longhorns, Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan State Spartans, Florida State Seminoles, Duke Blue Devils, and Mizzou Tigers, among a few other programs.

But that last round of finalist cuts coming soon could narrow that list down to three or five schools.

Texas is in a group of more than two dozen schools in total that offered Myslinski thus far. Other schools that offered him but appear to be out of the running now are the Arkansas Razorbacks, Illinois Fighting Illini, Oregon Ducks, East Carolina Pirates, UAB Blazers, South Florida Bulls, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

An advantage for Texas is that they held an unofficial visit with Myslinski last month. He’s only held unofficial visits with Texas, Michigan State, and Florida State, in the last six weeks. That should be an edge for each of those three schools.

Myslinkski ranks as the nation’s No. 1,384 2021 high school prospect, No. 17 center, and No. 189 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 rankings slot him as the No. 12 center and No. 102 prospect out of Florida.

Next. Opponents that are undefeated against Texas. dark

Texas is currently trying to cobble together enough O-Line depth in their 2021 class and hang around the top 10 in the national class rankings all at the same time. And while winning over Myslinski won’t be easy (since he appears to be slightly leaning toward the Hawkeyes), they should go all out in the next 7-10 days to try and get his pledge.
