The 2021 Texas football recruiting class could have another emerging target to add to the mix with 3-Star Dallas Jesuit OT Ryan Lengyel.

The situation is going to start getting more and more desperate for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class to find help in the trenches ahead of the Early Signing Period come December. Texas had a huge miss on the recruiting trail in the trenches last month when the highly coveted Brockermeyer twins wound up picking to join head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide over the likes of the Longhorns and Clemson Tigers.

But missing out on the Brockermeyer brothers doesn’t have to spell complete doom for the Longhorns 2021 recruiting class in the trenches. There is still a shot that head coach Tom Herman and co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Herb Hand could salvage something good for this 2021 class along the offensive line.

And it appears that the Longhorns coaching staff is currently making the right moves to try and do the best they can to stack up depth along the offensive line in this 2021 class, despite losing the commitments of the Brockermeyer brothers. On July 31, the three-star Dallas Jesuit 6-foot-5 and 275 pound offensive tackle Ryan Lengyel announced on his Twitter timeline that he officially received his Longhorns scholarship offer.

Texas is now starting to find their next set of targets along the offensive line to build up this 2021 class. Lengyel was the latest 2021 high school prospect along the offensive line to get a Texas offer, but he likely won’t be the last before the Early Signing Period.

Texas is now one of nearly 20 schools that have sent scholarship offers Lengyel’s way. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Baylor Bears, Florida International Panthers, Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, Wyoming Cowboys, and a host of FCS programs including Missouri State and Sam Houston State.

The Top247 rankings for Lengyel slots him as the No. 185 offensive tackle and No. 340 prospect out of Texas. This Dallas, TX, native could keep rising up the recruiting rankings, though, after picking up his Texas offer.

Lengyel is starting to trend to committing to Texas at this point too. The Rivals FutureCast has all of their analysts and publishers picking Lengyel to commit to Texas over the rest of the competition. And the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions gives Texas a similar favor to land the commitment of Lengyel over the rest of the field.

Texas is sitting in a really good position to get Lengyel as one of their more underrated commits in the 2021 class. They need to stack the depth for the offensive line, and Lengyel is a potential gem find for this class.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 12 in the nation and remains ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners as top in the Big 12. They have 15 commits in the 2021 class, with the latest pledge coming from three-star Cherry Creek tight end Gunnar Helm.
