A potential hidden gem that the Longhorns could nab in their 2021 recruiting class is already committed elsewhere at the moment. Under-the-radar three-star Lewisville dual-threat quarterback Taylen Green could be a good one for the Longhorns to go after, but his commitment is currently with head coach Bryan Harsin and the Boise State Broncos.

The former Texas offensive coordinator Harsin latched onto the recruitment of Green pretty late in his high school football career. But that was a good move by all indications so far. It would definitely give him the sweats if the Longhorns were to start pursuing his commitment at this point in time, though.

Boise State offered Green back on June 30, and landed his commitment less than a month later, on July 17. Green holds 10 schools in total on his offer sheet. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Marshall Thundering Herd, Central Michigan Chippewas, Wyoming Cowboys, New Mexico State Aggies, San Diego State Aztecs, and the UTEP Miners.

He also has reported scout looks from the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Baylor Bears, and Louisville Cardinals.

At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, the Lewisville, TX, native Green would bring a lot of versatility to the table for the Longhorns. He runs a 40-yard dash time around 4.60 seconds, which isn’t bad for a quarterback of his stature entering his senior year of high school. He ranks as the nation’s No. 1,204 2021 high school prospect, No. 37 dual-threat quarterback, and No. 185 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).
