Big 12 Football: Ranking 5 best players for the 2020 season
This coming season will see the Big 12 football conference push about five or 10 players to the forefront that could really standout.
The start of the 2020 college football season for the 10 teams in the Big 12 Football conference is now officially less than two weeks away. And a lot of eyes will be falling on how the Texas football program is able to help shape the landscape of the Big 12 this fall on the gridiron. Texas comes into the season with a No. 14 ranking in both major preseason polls. The expectations will hold its that Texas finishes up the 2020 season at least with a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game.
The biggest challengers for the Big 12 Championship this fall should be the Oklahoma schools, Texas, TCU Horned Frogs, Iowa State Cyclones, and potentially the Baylor Bears and Kansas State Wildcats. The likes of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Kansas Jayhawks, could find it tough to compete in the Big 12 this fall.
Granted in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic, who knows who will be able to rise to the occasion this coming season. Texas will have to find a way to compete no matter the raw amount of distractions and hurdles that come their way this year. The good news is that they return the bulk of their starters on each side of the ball, which was a problem for them last season.
Outside of the Longhorns, the rest of the Big 12 should have a good competition near the top of the conference standings. The Oklahoma schools each bring back very talented rosters, as does the likes of TCU, Baylor, Iowa State, and Kansas State. One of those two Oklahoma schools will be looking to make it more than a half-decade in a row of Big 12 Titles this fall.
Here’s a look into the five best players in the Big 12 this season that can help shape how the conference’s landscape will play out.
