5) Best players in the Big 12 for the 2020 season: Sam Cosmi, Offensive Tackle

The Big 12 has a lot of NFL-caliber offensive linemen coming back for this season that have a very bright future at the next level. Among those are rising redshirt junior standout Texas offensive tackle Sam Cosmi, Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey, and Oklahoma State offensive guard (formerly of West Virginia) Josh Sills.

Cosmi is going to anchor the Longhorns offensive line this fall. And he’s done a great job during his two years playing on the Forty Acres thus far. His sizable frame, good fundamental footwork, and consistent motor can allow him to work through multiple levels of opposing defenses. Cosmi and Derek Kerstetter should be the two that are the most consistent and effective Texas offensive linemen this year.

In terms of NFL Draft stock, Cosmi and Humphrey should be the first two offensive linemen out of the Big 12 taken off of the board. But that can always change any given season. This coming season will just have the most limited amount of film and games outside of the Big 12. So the tests will be limited coming their way.

This versatile and talented 6-foot-7 and 300 pound offensive tackle should be a first round pick come the 2021 NFL Draft. He helped Texas steadily improve their ground game over the course of the last two years (averaged just shy of five yards per carry last season), and barely missed a block in the run or the passing game in the process.
