1) Best players in the Big 12 for the 2020 season: Chuba Hubbard, Running Back

The clear best player in the Big 12 for the coming season is also one that was the most productive running back in the entire country last year. Oklahoma State rising redshirt junior star rusher Chuba Hubbard has a chance to do something very few at his position has done in the history of college football.

If Hubbard reaches the 2,000-rushing yard mark this year, then he would do so for the second straight season. Last year, Hubbard registered 2,094 rushing yards, 21 rushing touchdowns (6.4 yards per carry), 23 catches, and 198 receiving yards. For his career in total now, Hubbard has registered 2,834 rushing yards on 452 carries, 28 rushing touchdowns (6.3 yards per carry), 45 catches, 427 receiving yards, and two touchdown catches.

Hubbard is going to be a real threat for Oklahoma State whenever he touches the ball this fall. Last year, there were four games in which he registered more than 200 rushing yards. And there were another four games where he racked up at least 160 total yards from scrimmage. Texas was one of those that was able to hold Hubbard more at bay. But he still got well over the 100-rushing yard mark and two touchdowns on the ground against the Longhorns.

Next. Who would benefit from leaving the Big 12. dark

It’s really difficult to win the Heisman as a running back. But if there’s anyone in the Big 12 (especially now that Oklahoma’s Kennedy Brooks is sitting out of the 2020 season), it’s likely going to be Hubbard. He and Ehlinger should be the two real shots among the Big 12’s upperclassmen that could win the Heisman this year.
