2) Big Ten teams the Big 12 could add for 2020: Nebraska

The lone former Big 12 school in the Big Ten right now is one of the blue blood programs in that conference, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. While the Nebraska football program has largely fallen off in recent years, the hope in Lincoln is that former UCF Knights head coach and Husker alum Scott Frost will take them back to the glory days.

Former Nebraska head coach Mike Riley brought very mixed results for the program on the gridiron during his tenure in Lincoln. And while fellow former head coach Bo Pelini was consistently putting the Huskers at least in the top 25 in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, that wasn’t the results that this ultra-loyal fan base wanted.

Now Nebraska is trying to pick up the pieces after a pretty disappointing start to the Frost-era. In his first year at the helm, Frost won just four games for the Huskers. And it didn’t get much better in his second year, as the Huskers wrapped up last season with just five wins. Frost has yet to get the Huskers postseason eligible in his time as head coach.

This year would make a ton of sense for the Big 12 to take the Huskers back into the fold. Nebraska would be fun to see play against the likes of the Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Tech Red Raiders, etc. And maybe they will be more competitive this year than they have in the last two or three under Riley and Frost.
