How to watch Texas football vs. UTEP: TV, live stream, game time, and pick
Texas football is set to kick off their 2020 regular season on Sep. 12 under the lights at DKR against the 1-0 UTEP Miners.
It has officially almost arrived. The Texas football program kicks off their 2020 season on the night of Sep. 12 at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium against the UTEP Miners out of Conference-USA. Texas and UTEP kick off under the lights tonight with a ton of excitement building for both sides.
UTEP already played in their season opener, which resulted in a home win last weekend at the Sun Bowl in El Paso over the FCS Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks by the final score of 24-14. That was just the third win in the last four years for UTEP. They finished up each of the last two seasons with just one win a piece.
Meanwhile, this will be the first game played for the Longhorns since knocking off the No. 11 ranked Utah Utes in the Alamo Bowl by the final score of 38-10 to cap the 2019 season. Texas finished up their 2019 season with a record of 8-5 (5-4 Big 12), good for finishing up 25th in the last AP Poll.
The last FBS win for the Miners came over the Rice Owls, back during the 2018 season. Last season, the Longhorns took care of business against their two Group of Five opponents, beating the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and Rice.
Here’s a look at the game time, TV, streaming, and more info for the Texas vs. UTEP game tonight at home at DKR.

Picking Texas football vs. UTEP
The Longhorns are 44-point favorites ahead of kick off against the Miners tonight. Texas is also 5-0 all-time in the series against UTEP. The last meeting between these two teams resulted in 41-7 win at home for the men in burnt orange, back during the 2016 regular season.
ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Longhorns a whopping 99.8 percent chance to win tonight’s game against UTEP.
With that in mind, this should be a game that head coach Tom Herman, star senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger, and the Longhorns are able to get a hold of early. Ehlinger has a good shot to kick off his Heisman campaign in style this weekend by having a big first half against an overmatched UTEP secondary.
This is the type of game where Herman should also get the opportunity to pull out Ehlinger early, and give someone like redshirt sophomore Casey Thompson or true freshman Hudson Card a shot at quarterback. Texas can also use their vast array of newly added skill position weapons, and all of their returning talent on the defensive side of the ball, to dismantle UTEP tonight.
