Big 12 Football: 3 PAC-12 schools that benefit from joining the conference
Which three PAC-12 teams would join the Big 12 Football conference, where both parties would hypothetically benefit greatly in the end?
The Big 12 football conference is in a really volatile time in the college football landscape. The college football world is dealing with making the 2020 season work in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic, and it’s wreaking havoc with some games week in and week out. Each passing week of the season, we get at least a few games that have to be pushed back.
Even as early as Tuesday, Sep. 29, the Sun Belt saw one of its bigger games pushed back already. The Troy Trojans and South Alabama Jaguars reportedly (official team release) had their game originally scheduled for Oct. 3 pushed back to an unknown date at this point.
But this comes back to a bigger point that the Power Five conferences are having to deal with new adjustments each passing week. And two of the Power Five conferences that delayed their starts to the 2020 season will in fact be running full boar it seems by mid-November.
The Big Ten is set for a late October start date, and the PAC-12 is set to get up and running by early November to try and have a championship game in store by Dec. 20. On Dec. 20, the College Football Playoff will have their selections for the four teams in the mix.
However, the Big 12, SEC, and ACC have already started their seasons heading into the first weekend of games in the month of October. There was a school of thought at one point that the Big 12 could include teams from the Big Ten or PAC-12 in the mix this fall, like the ACC did for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
With the PAC-12 not looking too great heading into their shortened version of the 2020 season, here’s a look into the hypothetical three schools that would be beneficial to take in for the Big 12.
