1) Landing spots for Texas football CB Kenyatta Watson II: Georgia

Perhaps the most captivating landing spot that Watson II could end up in is Athens, GA, with head coach Kirby Smart. Georgia was one of the most high profile scholarship offers that Watson II received coming out of high school. And while the Dawgs might not seem like they would be in need of some cornerback help, this would be a natural transition for all parties involved.

Watson II would be able to get to stay in-state with a coaching staff that largely has the same personnel on it that was going after him out of high school. Whereas the Longhorns have a different cornerbacks coach and defensive coordinator than when they were recruiting Watson during the 2019 cycle. Former assistant Jason Washington was the primary recruiter for Watson II when he committed to Texas back in 2018.

And Georgia has yet to land a single cornerback commit in their 2021 recruiting class. They do have six true corners on the roster now, but senior star Richard LeCounte III is likely headed to the 2021 NFL Draft following this season. That would leave Georgia with just two underclassmen at the cornerback position heading into next season.

Georgia would be a rather smooth transition for Watson II since he would both be close to home and part of a defense that regularly develops NFL-caliber talent at all levels. The determining factor for Watson II landing with the Dawgs is how they will configure the pipeline of cornerback talent from here through the beginning of next offseason.
