2) Bold predictions for Texas football QB Sam Ehlinger: Pushes Joshua Moore over 1,000 yards

The breakout receiver for the Longhorns over the first four games, and heading into the bye week, was the redshirt sophomore and former four-star recruit Joshua Moore. The elusive and reliable 6-foot-1 and 170 pound wideout was really solid for the Longhorns from the very outset of the 2020 regular season.

So far this season, Moore has registered a team-leading 283 receiving yards on 19 catches (14.9 yards per catch), to go along with five touchdown catches. Although his production dropped a slight bit in the last two games, Moore is still by far the most productive receiver through four games on the Forty Acres.

Moore could have another big breakthrough game against the Bears this weekend. The Baylor secondary was decent in their first two games of the season, but West Virginia and the Kansas Jayhawks are by no means the most difficult passing games to shut down in the Big 12.

Heading into the fourth game of the Big 12 schedule, Moore is on a good pace. He’s on pace for just shy of 780 receiving yards on the season, and around 12 touchdowns. But that’s still well shy of 1,000 receiving yards.

Ehlinger needs to re-establish that solid connection he had with Moore against Texas Tech and the UTEP Miners. Let him gash opposing Big 12 defenses on slant and post routes, and occasionally deep, and Moore will get headed back on the right track. There were three big mishaps when Ehlinger targeted Moore in the last two games (two interceptions and one drop). Fix those and this connection could be really special once again.
