Texas football breaking out white home uniforms for first time since 1950
Texas football is going with a real throwback classic look this weekend against Baylor at home, with the traditional all white uniforms.
It looks as if the Texas football program is really throwing it back for their Oct. 24 home contest against head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears. Texas is reportedly set to dust off the all white home uniforms to wear at DKR for the first time in 70 years. The last time that Texas broke out the all white uniforms on the gridiron at home was during the 1950 season.
Although, the official Texas football Twitter page did announce earlier that the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1970 National Championship-winning team would be this weekend against Baylor. And they released a correction that the celebration for that title team would be held later this season, in the Nov. 27 home showdown against the Iowa State Cyclones.
The uniforms that Texas is wearing this weekend against Baylor look really good, and hopefully will get a spark out of this team to get a much needed victory at home. Texas comes into this game with a record of 2-2 (1-2 Big 12) after falling short at the hands of head coach Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners in the annual Red River Rivalry game back on Oct. 10, by the final score of 53-45 in four overtimes.

The last win for the Longhorns this season came back in the Big 12 opener on the road back on Sep. 26, over the Texas Tech Red Raiders, by the final score of 63-56 in overtime. Fourth-year Texas head coach Tom Herman really needs this win to keep more pressure from mounting on him. Herman is already sitting on one of the hottest seats in the entire country since Texas went into the bye week.
Texas enters this game as an 8.5-point favorite in the betting line, and the over/under is set at 61 points. According to the ESPN Football Power Index, Texas has a 76.6 percent chance to beat Baylor at home on Oct. 24.
Herman and the Longhorns are looking to snap a two-game skid that they ride into this game. Meanwhile, Aranda and his Baylor team comes in with a record of 1-1 (1-1 Big 12) after falling short against the West Virginia Mountaineers in a road overtime loss. Texas and Baylor will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT at DKR on Oct. 24.
