Texas Football: 3 problematic Baylor players for the Longhorns
Which potentially problematic Baylor Bears players could be an issue for Texas football on either side of the ball this weekend?
There’s a very big opportunity on tap for fourth-year Texas football head coach Tom Herman and his team this weekend as they’re set to take on head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 24. Texas enters this game with a record of 2-2 (1-2 Big 12) and with plenty of pressure mounting on their head coach’s shoulders to end a two-game losing streak.
The Longhorns are still seeking their first victory in the month of October. Their month started out with a tough home loss in the Big 12 home opener at the hands of the ultra-stingy head coach Gary Patterson and the TCU Horned Frogs, who got the best of the Longhorns by the final score of 33-31.
And then, the Longhorns fell short in the annual Red River Rivalry game against head coach Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners back on Oct. 10, by the final score of 53-45 in four overtimes. The two wins of the season for Texas so far came over the UTEP Miners back on Sep. 12 and the Texas Tech Red Raiders back on Sep. 26 in their Big 12 opener.
Meanwhile, Baylor comes into this game with a record of 1-1 (1-1 Big 12). In the last game they played in, the Bears lost to the West Virginia Mountaineers on the road in overtime back on Oct. 3. The sole win on the season for Baylor came in their opener at home against the Kansas Jayhawks back on Sep. 26.
The last game that Baylor was scheduled to play was against the No. 7 Oklahoma State Cowboys on Oct. 17, but it was pushed back due to a plethora of COVID-19 active cases among the players and staff. But Baylor is sure to come out of their de factor bye week prepared and motivated to pull off another upset of the Longhorns.
Here’s a look at three Baylor players that could be problematic for the Longhorns this weekend.
