Texas Football: 3 bold predictions in must-win vs. Baylor
What bold predictions do we have for this weekend’s matchup in a big spot for Texas football against the Baylor Bears, also in a huge one for Tom Herman?
There’s an enormous contest on tap for fourth-year Texas football head coach Tom Herman for his team this weekend, as they take on first year head coach (and former LSU Tigers longtime defensive coordinator) Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears at home out of the bye week. Texas really needs a win to keep this insurmountable pressure off of Herman’s shoulders as much as they can.
The Longhorns come into this game with a record of 2-2 (1-2 Big 12), after falling short against head coach Lincoln Riley and the slipping Oklahoma Sooners in the annual Red River Rivalry game back on Oct. 10, by the final score of 53-45 in four overtimes. The other loss that started the losing streak that the Longhorns currently find themselves on came against the TCU Horned Frogs back on Oct. 3, by the disappointing final score of 33-31.
Meanwhile, Baylor comes into this struggling in their own right. They enter with a record of 1-1 (1-1 Big 12) after falling short on the road back on Oct. 3 in Morgantown against the West Virginia Mountaineers in overtime. The lone win for Baylor on the season so far came over the Kansas Jayhawks in their opener at home back on Sep. 26.
Moreover, Texas is still trying to get their first win of the month of October. Their two remaining games of the month come against Baylor this weekend and the No. 6 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road on Oct. 31. Neither looks to be a particularly easy win for the Longhorns to lock in.
But just focusing on this weekend’s game, here’s a look at three bold predictions in a must-win for Herman and the Longhorns against Baylor.
