The biggest commit in the 2022 Texas football recruiting class, 5-Star pro-style QB Quinn Ewers, gave the Horns Up hand sign in a game this week.

It was a big night for the biggest commit in the 2022 Texas football recruiting class, the elite five-star Southlake Carroll pro-style quarterback Quinn Ewers, in a win for his team over Byron Nelson on Oct. 22. Southlake Carroll completely dominated Byron Nelson in a key Texas high school football showdown on Thursday night, by the final score of 57-21.

The big arm of the ultra-highly touted Longhorns commit Ewers helped push Southlake Carroll to get this dominant win over Byron Nelson. Ewers helped move the Dragons to a record of 2-1 on the season so far. Southlake Carroll’s sole loss on the season to date came against Rockwall, in a tough 44-42 game back on Oct. 8.

However, Ewers bounced back fast this week in the win over Byron Nelson. In one of his multiple touchdowns on the day, he ran it in for the Dragons and flashed the Horns Up hand sign after crossing the goal line. That celebration helped to show his Texas pride, despite some rough results on the recruiting trail of late for head coach Tom Herman and the Longhorns.

Next week, Ewers and the Dragons get Keller at home on Oct. 30. The No. 12 ranked team in the state needs to get another win, and Ewers is leading them in the right direction.

Ewers ranks as the nation’s No. 2 2022 high school prospect, and the top overall pro-style quarterback and prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s top prospect overall. He hasn’t received any offers since he committed to Texas back on Aug. 14, 2020.

There are 29 other schools on Ewers’ lengthy offer sheet, as of the afternoon of Oct. 23. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Penn State Nittany Lions, TCU Horned Frogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies, and USC Trojans.
