Texas Football: 3 overreactions from momentum-shifting win over Baylor
1) Overreactions from Texas football’s win over Baylor: Joshua Moore is one of the brightest receiver stars in the Big 12
This wasn’t the noisiest game from the Longhorns rising star redshirt sophomore wide receiver Joshua Moore in terms of the overall stat line he put up. But Moore did provide for what was maybe the best highlight for the Longhorns in this win. Moore did it all for the Longhorns in this game, at least when he was called upon.
Nearly all of the production in the receiving game for the Longhorns this weekend came from Moore, former grad transfer and senior Tarik Black, and tight end Jared Wiley. Between those three Longhorns, Ehlinger was able to find five receptions for around 200 receiving yards and his lone passing touchdown.
Moore had that one incredible catch for 42 yards, leaping over his defensive back in coverage to snag an insane highlight. He finished up the game with two catches for 45 receiving yards, one of which was his lone touchdown catch. Moore also had the third-best run blocking grade of any player on this team, no drops, and no penalties called against him.
On the season so far, Moore has registered 21 catches for 328 receiving yards (15.9 yards per catch), good for six touchdown catches. He ranks in the top five in the FBS in touchdown catches this season, and in the top five in the Big 12 in receiving yards. Moore has also minimized the mistakes, with just one drop and no penalties called against him this season.
