The 2021 Texas football recruiting class appears to be making a lot of headway with the lengthy four-star WR/S Antonio Harmon of late.

There’s a few targets that are getting the utmost priority from the coaching staff for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class, now that we are well under two months away from the Early Signing Period. And one of those emerging targets that could make a big different for fourth-year head coach Tom Herman and his 2021 recruiting class is the sizable four-star 6-foot-4 and 205 pound Kosciusko wide receiver/safety Antonio Harmon.

This versatile product coming out of Kosciusko High School in Kosciusko, MS, is one of the top remaining uncommitted targets for this recruiting cycle for Herman and the Longhorns. If Texas were to land a commitment from Harmon, he would be the highest rated wide receiver in this class.

At the moment, the highest rated wide receiver commit in the Longhorns 2021 class is three-star Monarch product Jaden Alexis.

And there’s some good news looming for the Longhorns in pursuit of landing a commitment from Harmon. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions are starting to heavily favor the Longhorns over the Ole Miss Rebels and the rest of the field to land Harmon’s commitment.

But the Rivals FutureCast still has all of their analysts and publishers picking Harmon to commit to Ole Miss over Texas.

That forecast from Rivals hasn’t been updated in the last six months, though, and the four latest Crystal Ball Predictions all went to Texas in the last eight days. So it does sound like there’s more traction in place with Harmon for the Longhorns than ever before.

Harmon ranks as the nation’s No. 282 2021 high school prospect, No. 49 wide receiver, and No. 5 prospect out of Mississippi (247Sports Composite). And he currently holds offers from just shy of a dozen schools. And Texas was actually the latest scholarship offer he received (back in June).

Other highlighting schools on Harmon’s offer sheet includes the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, SMU Mustangs, Virginia Cavaliers, and Louisville Cardinals.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2021 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 17 in the nation and remains in the second spot behind the Oklahoma Sooners in the Big 12. They currently hold 17 commits in their 2021 class, with the highest-rated being five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders.
