Which three former Texas basketball players that actually played in the NBA during the 2019-20 season had the best campaign?

What could be a very promising season for the Texas basketball program could finally highlight the level of talent that this school had roll through the men’s hoops teams in the last 15 years. Under current head coach Shaka Smart and former head coach Rick Barnes (now in the same position with the Tennessee Volunteers), the Texas men’s hoops program had a very underrated amount of NBA-caliber talent roll through the Forty Acres in recent memory.

The problem that the Longhorns had on the hardwood under Smart’s wing in recent year in terms of getting that national recognition is the lack of success in the win column. Smart found plenty of success on the recruiting trail in his time as Texas head coach, but he has yet to make even close to a significant run in a Big 12 Tournament, or namely in the NCAA Tournament.

In his time as Texas head coach thus far, Smart has just two NCAA Tournament appearances and nothing close to a Big 12 regular season or conference tournament title. Smart has also never finished ranked in the top 25 with any of his five Texas teams since taking over as head coach heading into the 2015-16 season.

Nonetheless, it is worth noting how former Longhorns fared in the weird 2019-20 NBA season, that was the longest in the league’s history. One former Longhorn wound up getting a ring (guard Avery Bradley with the Los Angeles Lakers), and multiple of them competed in the season’s restart at the bubble in Disney World.

Here’s a look back at the three best Texas Exes in the NBA, working off their production from the 2019-20 season.
