Which three former Oklahoma State quarterbacks put up big numbers against the Texas football defense that Ash and Yurcich can learn from this week?

A huge looming showdown between Texas football and the undefeated and No. 6 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys lies ahead for the mid-afternoon slate on Halloweekend in Stillwater. What would usually be an electric atmosphere for a crucial meeting between Oklahoma State and Texas on what is both Homecoming and Halloween Day will be tamped down a bit.

Fourth-year head coach Tom Herman will still need to have his team up for what will be a difficult Oklahoma State team to contend with led by longtime head coach Mike Gundy. Texas comes into this game with a record of 3-2 (2-2 Big 12), after knocking off the Baylor Bears at home back on Oct. 24 by the final score of 27-16.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State comes in with a record of 4-0 (3-0 Big 12) after defeating the No. 17 ranked Iowa State Cyclones at home on Oct. 24 by the final score of 24-21. At this point of the season, Oklahoma State is about the Big 12’s best hope to make the College Football Playoff. Texas and the Oklahoma Sooners faltered early, no with a combined four losses between them.

There is an interesting track record in the all-time series history between Texas and Oklahoma State. Texas holds the edge in this series all-time, with a record of 25-9-0. And the Longhorns took the meeting between these two teams last year, with a win at home by the final score of 36-30.

But this series really went back and forth throughout the 2010’s. Prior to the last decade, Texas really dominated the series with Oklahoma State. Texas ended a four-game winning streak for the Pokes in this series by winning their meeting last season in Austin.
