It looks like Texas football will be without junior running back Keaontay Ingram for the rest of the Oklahoma State game with an ankle injury.

Texas football is doing their best to keep it very close with a good undefeated and No. 6 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys team on the afternoon/evening of Oct. 31. Fourth-year Texas head coach Tom Herman saw his team hit the road this weekend to travel to Stillwater to face longtime head coach Mike Gundy and his Pokes at Boone Pickens Stadium on Halloween Day.

And while the Longhorns have hope to pull off the big upset of the Pokes on Oct. 31 to send the Big 12 into a real cycle of chaos, they had to do so working through more injury problems. Texas lost some depth in the running back room in the first half of this game, when junior Keaontay Ingram came up limping with a lower-body injury.

Ingram did get in the end zone early in the first half with a touchdown run. But it was likely the run before that could’ve done the damage to his injury status.

It was a nice rebound for Ingram to get the first touchdown of the game for the Longhorns after he had some fumbling troubles earlier this month. Dating back to the loss to the TCU Horned Frogs back on Oct. 3 at home, Ingram had two key fumbles that cost the Longhorns in a big way.

Before exiting this game with an ankle injury, Ingram registered just two rushing attempts for five yards and one rushing score. On the season to date, Ingram now has 353 total yards from scrimmage (250 rushing for around five yards per carry) and two total touchdowns. He was the starting running back for Texas for the Oklahoma State game this weekend.

With Ingram out for the rest of the game due to an ankle injury, it will turn a lot of the workload over to sophomore running back Roschon Johnson and true freshman former five-star recruit Bijan Robinson. Around halfway through the third quarter, the leading rusher for the Longhorns is Robinson (seven rushes for 47 yards).
